Is India attaining a sustainable energy-led growth?

Interaction between environmental degradation and economic growth is a growing matter of interest among policymakers. In this study, we have considered CO<sub>2</sub> emission as the air pollution indicator. Based on Solow growth model with Hicks-neutral productivity adjustment, we have calculated the elasticity of CO<sub>2</sub> emission to energy consumption. This study has been done for 1971-2010.
